Il valore di un sorriso

Un Sorriso non costa nulla e rende molto;
arricchisce chi lo riceve,
senza impoverire chi lo dona.

Non dura che un istante,
ma il suo ricordo è talora eterno.

Nessuno è così ricco da poterne fare a meno;
nessuno così povero da non poterne dare.

Crea felicità in casa,
negli affari è sostegno,
dell'amicizia profondo sensibile segno.

Un sorriso dà riposo alla stanchezza,
nello scoraggiamento rinnova il coraggio,
nella tristezza è consolazione,
d'ogni pena è naturale rimedio.

Ma è un bene che non si può comprare,
né prestare, né rubare,
poiché esso ha valore solo nell'istante in cui si dona.

E se poi incontrerete talora
chi l'aspettato sorriso a voi dona,
siate generosi e date il vostro
perché nessuno ha tanto bisogno di sorriso
come colui che ad altri darlo non sa.

The value of a smile

A Smile doesn't cost anything and makes a lot;
it enriches who receives it, without impoverishing who gives it.

It doesn't last that an instant, but its memory is eternal sometimes.

Nobody is so rich to be been able to do without it;
anybody so poor not to be been able to give of it.

It creates happiness in the house, in the business it is support, of the friendship deep sensitive sign.

A smile gives rest to the tiredness, in the discouragement it renews the courage, in the sadness it is consolation, of every punishment is natural remedy.

But it is a good that it cannot be bought, neither to lend, neither to steal, since it has alone value in the instant in which is given.

And if then you will sometimes meet who the expected smile to you gives, you are generous and you give yours because nobody has so much need of smile as people that can't give them to the others.
